SJSU is accepting applications from students who would like to become SJSU Salzburg Scholars in 2009 (due 11/10/7) and applications from faculty/administrators who would like to become SJSU Salzburg Fellows in 2009 (due 11/17/08). Those selected will attend a program on Global Citizenship at the Salzburg Global Seminar in summer 2009 and spend the following academic year working on projects to globalize the University.

SJSU Salzburg Fellows (2007-2008)

The University selected 16 faculty and administrators to serve as SJSU Salzburg Fellows in 2007-2008.  The Fellows were led by Carmen Sigler (Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs) and attended ISP #20 from July 8-15, 2007 with colleagues from 8 other institutions of higher education in the United States.  Highlights of the week included talks by Mary Catherine Bateson (renowned Cultural Anthropologist and daughter of Margaret Mead, Chair of Salzburg Seminar Session #1 in 1947) and Yolanda Moses (past-president of CUNY & AAHE), as well as a modern jazz concert by Valerie Capers.

The Fellows spent the 2007-2008 academic year working on global projects with SJSU Salzburg Scholars through the SJSU Salzburg Mentoring Program, coordinated by Bill Reckmeyer.
