eCampus

Center for Distributed Education

eCampus supports SJSU faculty in the effective use of Web-based tools, resources and practices to enhance teaching and learning. More than 100 faculty and 250 courses are involved each semester as eCampus strengthens its focus to develop online, blended online, and onsite programs that meet the needs of the SJSU community.

Learning is extended beyond the physical classroom, allowing access to tools and resources that support collaboration, communication and development of community, leading to powerful interactive learning.

Global Studies (GS)

The GS promotes global dialogues and learning among students and faculty, at SJSU and throughout the world. GS supports the Global Studies B.A. degree housed in the College of Social Sciences and encourages the incorporation of international understanding into all disciplines. GS aims to equip tomorrow’s graduates to live, work and grow professionally, anywhere in the world.

International Programs and Student Services (IPSS)

IPSS comprises three units:

• programs and services for international students and scholars,
• Study Abroad and Exchange Program ,
• and the International House - a multi-cultural residence for students from all over the world, including the United States.

Among IPSS programs and activities are orientations for international students as well as study abroad and exchange participants, two International Weeks annually, Study Abroad Fairs, International House coffee nights and intercultural workshops.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

If you are 50 or older, renew your enthusiasm for learning at San José State University. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at SJSU provides a rich and evolving array of courses and programs. Keep your intellect sharp. Choose from a broad range of course topics . Explore topics of long-standing interest or discover a new passion. Enjoy the company of others who share similar interests and varied experiences. Arrange a class schedule that fits in with your calendar of commitments and activities. Engage in discussions, enjoy lectures or presentations, and consider life’s questions—and answers.

Professional Development (PD)

PD offers short-term noncredit courses and certificate programs in the evenings, on weekends and online to accommodate the needs of mid-career adults and those seeking new careers. Programs include courses and certificate programs in business, construction specialties, event and meeting planning, human resources, project management and purchasing/supply chain management.

For training and development solutions, Corporate Training Services (CTS) combines the focus of relevant practical skills training with the resources of SJSU to deliver quality training and consulting.

SJSU Salzburg Program

The SJSU Salzburg Program connects SJSU faculty to the Salzburg Seminar in Austria, to challenge present and future leaders to solve issues of global concern.

Special Session

Certificate and Degree Programs

In cooperation with colleges and departments, IES offers certificate and undergraduate degree programs at unique times and places or via online delivery to meet the needs of adult learners.

Studies in American Language (SAL)

SAL’s intensive academic English language programs prepare international students for success at SJSU and other American universities. Short programs in American culture and communication and international business communication bring students from around the world to SJSU.
